Large financial services client based in Auckland CBD.
What will you do?
Reporting to the data delivery manager, you will provide big data management and consulting services, bridging the gap between business and technology.
Key accountabilities:
- Hadoop administration
- Management of the Hadoop environment (Cloudera)
- Assisting with project delivery
- Providing consulting and recommendations around projects leveraging key data assets
A day in the life:
- Develop and deliver data platform optimisation opportunities
- Establish metrics for tracking and measuring the value of data initiatives
- Provide technical advice on the loading of data into Hadoop
- Make recommendations for potential improvement using your industry knwledge of big data capabilities
Your background:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Hadoop
- Very strong business communication skills
- Good understanding of big data and the predominant data management architectural patterns
- Knowledge of data management tools such as Cloudera, Informatica, Flume, Hive etc
- CloudEra certification would be bonus
- Linux experience would be highly advantageous
